Alamo Drafthouse is undergoing the finishing touches of its new location in Corpus Christi and now officially hiring. The Austin-based restaurant/bar/movie theater is taking applications for positions online as of Dec. 13.
The iconic theater is known for unobtrusive restaurant service in the theater while the movie is showing. Each seat comes with a table, a menu and a waiter. It is also famous for its zero tolerance policy concerning talking or using cellphones while a movie is playing. “We also hate it when other movie theaters make you watch advertisements after you’ve already paid to see the movie,” reads a statement on the company’s website. “So we’re vigilant about never letting ads hit our screens. We don’t want anything to disrupt your experience of the show.”
For those who show up early, Alamo Drafthouse creates custom pre-shows with specially themed content.
The speciality theater also hosts events such as Quote Along with the movie (the no-talking policy is lifted for these, of course), Girlie Night presentations, Kid Camps and more.
Located at 7601 S. Staples St. at Yorktown Boulevard, Corpus Christi’s Alamo Drafthouse includes seven screens and a full food and beverage menu. According to the Alamo Drafthouse Facebook page, the company is not ready to announce opening day just yet but promises to reveal the news soon.
Also top secret: the theme of the Corpus Christi Alamo Drafthouse. Each individual theater is theme-based, drawing on local lore and scenery.
