Join the Beach to Bay Run  May 18 in Corpus Christi. Held annually on the Armed Forces Day, the third Saturday in May,

Beach to Bay honors the men and women in the U.S. Military.

About 2,600 teams with more than 16,000 runners are expected to participate in this year's 38th event.

The 26.22-mile relay marathon is split into six legs of 4.4 miles each — starting on North Padre Island and ending at McCaughan Park on Shoreline Drive.

Outrageous costumes and goofy getups are a common tradition among the runners and are always fun to see. So, even if you’re not ready to strap on your racing shoes or pin on a number, you can always cheer on the runners at the finish line by the bay.
