CELEBRATE WORLD FOOD DAY AT COLE PARK TODAY, OCT. 16 — Healthy people depend on healthy food systems, say supporters of several local farmers' markets. You can join in the movement for a healthier world — and a healthier you! — by celebrating World Food Day today in Cole Park.

The celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. and continues until 9 p.m. today, October 16, with a rally, speakers and lots of locally grown fruits and vegetables. Vendors and food sampling begin at 5 p.m. Watch a screening of the movie "Food Fight" at 7:30 p.m. Local producers and restaurants will be sharing samples and selling locally grown goods.
