CHRISTMAS AT CENTENNIAL HOUSE, DEC. 7-8 — For a truly old-fashioned holiday experience, visit Christmas at Centennial House on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8, from noon to 5 p.m. The house is located at 411 Upper Broadway in Corpus Christi. The event is put on by the Corpus Christi Area Heritage Society.

Also known as the Britton-Evans House, the historic home will feature period Christmas decorations by Blossom Shop, Carl's Fine Flowers, Marsden's Flowers and Antiques, Tubbs of Flowers and Sandra Linderman.

Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children younger than 12. There will be chances to win prizes, a silent auction and a Yule party.

The house was built in 1849 by Forbes and Rebecca Britton. The land originally belonged to Corpus Christi founder Col. Henry Kinney. It is the oldest building in Corpus Christi that is still on its original site.
