"SNOW" PREDICTED FOR CORPUS CHRISTI FIRST WEEKEND — The holidays have brought some extra fun along — including a man-made snow storm — while road work has changed some event locations. So, don't make your weekend holiday plans without reading this first!
Santa and his elves will be on hand for the monthly ArtWalk. Bring the family and don't forget the camera. The Jolly Old Elf promises to stick around for pictures. ArtWalk takes place the first Friday of the month at La Retama Park and throughout Downtown from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The December BridgeWalk, which is held on the first Sunday will march over the Harbor Bridge on Dec. 8. Runners and walkers assemble at 8:30 a.m., 1581 N. Chaparral Street. Arrive on the dot for a few brief words and a group photo. Be sure you get your photo taken again when you reach the apex!
The walk returns to Heritage Park 30 to 60 minutes later for activities, which this month includes snow!
Junior Leagues' Kids n the Kitchen presents Walking in a Winter Wonderland in the park at 9 a.m. Sunday. Yes, snow will be provided by the Junior League — unless of course it rains instead. Kids in the Kitchen promotes childhood health and wellness by empowering children to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Other fitness activities include yoga, tai chi and Zumba!
MusicWalk musicians are providing sounds of the season for the Harbor Lights Festival this month instead of holding its usual First Saturday event.
Marina Market Days, which typically takes place on the first Saturday of the month, has been suspended for approximately six months due to the Shoreline Blvd Realignment. But don't despair! A yet-to-be named NEW market days along with MusicWalk returns in January! Both will take place in La Retama Park. Times are 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Check corpuschristi1st.com for emerging details
