CATHEDRAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM 300 STRONG — Around 300 people will join their voices and spirits for the annual "Touch of Frost" holiday spectacular at the Corpus Christi Cathedral this weekend. The hour-long program starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The popular spectacular is selling out quickly. Only the 10:30 a.m. Saturday show still has available seating. General admission is only $3. VIP seating is $50.
Four different cathedral choirs will sing, accompanied by the Corpus Christi Symphony. Local local ballet dancers join area actors in a retelling of the Christmas story and other seasonal scenes.
Spectacular is a word well used in describing this event. Angels in designer wings are lifted 30 feet in the air during a liturgical reenactment of the Nativity. Angel wings were designed by Irene Corey Costume Design in Dallas.
Adding to the sparkle and beauty of the patent, the capes of the three kings trail along the cathedral steps. The bejeweled trains are made from the dresses of past Las Doñas de la Corte coronations.
For tickets, call (361) 883-4213. You can pick them up at the church on 505 N Upper Broadway.
