The November issue of the Corpus Christi Business News is on its way to your business mailboxes with a new addition to the family inserted inside. Inserted in this month’s issue, are 16 pages of super savings on everything from Aveda facials to Papa Murphy’s pizzas to appliance repair. The Corpus Christi Monthly Ad Mailer recently launched when 50,000 copies were mailed into high-income ZIP codes on the Southside and in the Lamar Park and Ocean Drive areas. It is now being inserted into this newspaper, which is mailed to 10,000 businesses in Corpus Christi. As an extension of the Corpus Christi Area-wide Telephone and Internet Directory, the Monthly Ad Mailer puts advertisers in front of their customers with a fresh look 12 times a year, said Texas Publishing Co. owner and publisher Dan Alvey. After 40 years in the advertising and publishing business, Alvey knows the value of putting eyes on advertising on a regular basis, whether it’s print or digital. “Our company doesn’t concentrate on one medium,” Alvey said. “We concentrate on acquiring customers for our customers through whatever it takes, from newspapers to direct mail to directories and the Internet.” The November issue also rates a careful reading. Find out how a high school graduation present saved the IceRays from going under and how fan appreciation in the Coastal Bend lead it to  become the most popular hockey team in its league. You'll also meet Carl Miniex, who was recently lauded by the Convention and Visitors Bureau for being an unofficial ambassador to the city. Miniex works security at the Corpus Christi Marina and customer service at the downtown Stripes. He always wears a smile and has a warm welcome for everyone he comes into contact with. Top features in this month's issue include:

  • A look at Proposition 3 on the Nov. 4 ballot, which would authorize the city to decommission or sell 17 parks
  • The three generations, including a granddaughter, repairing appliances at Arrow Appliance
  • How Send A Kiss Balloon and Gifts overcame a business challenge
  • Spotlight on Success profile, Bill Moreland of Bill Moreland's Shutter Shop

There's more news you can use in the December issue, which can be read online or in print. Look for copies in your mailbox or you local coffee shop. Anyone interested in advertising in the Corpus Christi Monthly Ad Mailer, the Corpus Christi Business News or any other of the online and print products being developed by Texas Publishing, should call 361-991-1306. “Corpus Christi is growing, and, as a family-owned business with a commitment to this community, we want to help keep the economic engine turning,” Alvey said.
