Some 200 volunteers are expected to build a new playground from the ground up Nov. 8 at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. The KaBoom playground was designed by kids during a design session at the museum earlier this fall.
Work on the playground, which is sponsored by KaBoom and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Texas, will be built from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the museum grounds.
At the same time, the museum is hosting geography-based game show, "Where in the World is Juan SanDiego?" as part of Family Fun Day.
On Nov. 22, the museum will not only host grand opening ceremonies for the playground, but will also charge only $1 for museum admission.
The Museum of Science and History is located at 1900 N. Chaparral in the SEA district in downtown Corpus Christi. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
