The Texas Department of Public Safety has opened a Driver License Center at a new location in Corpus Christi with more work stations and new technology that should speed up the process of making changes or getting a new license.
Now located at 3506 Twin River Blvd., the 18,600-square-foot building features 12 work stations. The new office is twice the size of the old location on South Padre Island Drive, which closed Dec. 30.
It is also twice as far away from the center of town, moving from six miles from downtown to almost 12 miles out. It is 12 miles from its former location as well.
Of course, you can avoid having to visit any driver’s license location by going online at dmv.org. The website is not owned or operated by any government agency. It is a private website that provides online services to states, including Texas. Drivers can change addresses, take practice tests, pay tickets and look up their driving records online.
For more information on state services, visit the state’s site at txdps.state.tx.us.
