Coffee lovers will soon be able to “sit, sip, surf…” in Flour Bluff when Coffee Waves opens it newest shop. Located at 10309 S. Padre Island Drive at Waldron Road, this Coffee Waves promises to focus on fast service and lunch for hungry people heading to and from Padre Island. It should be open for business by Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, said co-owner David Bendett.
Coffee Waves closed its downtown location on Williams Street last month. Co-owner Douglas Johnson said construction on Chaparral Street killed foot traffic and the business, which Coffee Waves took over from Agua Java in 2011.
Two other Coffee Waves remain open, one at 5738 Alameda Street in Corpus Christi and the other at 1007 State Highwy 361 in Port Aransas. Established in 2008, Coffee Waves is a “coffee shop for lovers of coffee,” declares its logo and website.
