Compete in the oyster shucking contest at the Fulton OysterFest the first weekend in March.

Come on out for fresh seafood, shucking contests and family fun at the 36th annual Fulton Oysterfest Thursday, March 5, through Sunday, March 8. Plenty of Oysterfest events are planned for the waterfront in Fulton, including a raw oyster-eating contest with a $200 first prize. First place in the oyster-shucking contest wins $700!
You'll also find carnival rides, games, live music, plenty of food and local vender booths galore. Thursday night ends with a spectacular fireworks display starting at 8:30 p.m.
Oysterfest serves as the primary fundraiser for the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department. Each year, proceeds from the festival are used to purchase lifesaving equipment and gear for the fire department.
Admission to the festival is $2 on Thursday. From Friday through Sunday, gate admission is $4 for those 12 years and up. For more information visit the Fulton website at fultonoysterfest.org.
Oysterfest is the first in a string of fantastic festivals lined up for the Coastal Bend. For more information, check out the 101 Vacation Guide at 101corpuschristi.com/vacation
