July 6, two water soaked meetings draw the attention of Corpus Christi residents: a Q&A about mako sharks for Shark Week or public hearing on the 2015 water quality report.
Corpus Christi residents have two choices of meetings tonight, both focused on water.
A public meeting to review the annual Drinking Water Quality Report begins at 6 p.m. July 6 at the Water Utilities Conference Room, 2726 Holly Road in Corpus Christi. The report was mailed to customers in June with their May utility bills. You also can view the report online at www.corpuschristiwater.com.
The annual water quality review meeting is required by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for all customers of the city of Corpus Christi water distribution system. Corpus Christi's water is treated at the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant and tested by the Water Utilities Laboratory.

MONSTER MAKO
If you’d rather hear more about “Monster Mako,” a TV show filmed off the coast of Port Aransas for the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, you can instead go to an encore screening of the show. You have to choose between the two because both are set for 6 p.m. July 6.
The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the researchers involved in tagging and filming the sharks. It all happens at the Harte Research Institute, room 127. The Institute is located on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus at 6300 Ocean Drive. It’s free and open to the public. You’ll learn about the science involved in the behind-the-scene studies of mako sharks!
“Monster Mako” premiered on the Discovery Channel, starring Harte Research Center’s own Greg Stunz, on Sunday, July 5.
