A week of newly submitted building plans in Corpus Christi add up to more than $33 million, thanks mostly to the already under way expansion of the Texas State Aquarium. Plans submitted to the city’s Development Services Department to be considered for building permits between June 26 through July 2, included a $27,997,090 addition to the aquarium. The Caribbean Journey, which almost doubles the size of the attraction, is expected to be concluded in 2017. Total cost is expected to be around $50,000.
Other plans submitted for consideration include:
• Lorelei Brewing Company, 520 Naval Air Station Dr., taproom and brewery, $43,000
• Buffalo Wild Wings, 201 S. Padre Island Drive, remodel, $45,000
• Flint Hills Hearn’s Ferry Entrance, 9054 Up River Road, $314,000, site work and parking lot entrance
• Oilpatch Petrolium, 1526 N. Padre Island Drive, $145,000, metal storage building
• Parkdale ER, 4117 S. Staples, #140, $1.1 million, remodel of existing space for emergency room
• The Storage Place, 6197 Dumbarton Oak, $564,600, new 24,000 square foot storage building
• Ennis Joslin New Retail Center, no address or purpose listed, $900,000
• Magellan Administrative Building, 973 Poth Lane, new admin office to house plant controls, $2.5 million
Three permits were issued the same week, two to Leopard Business Park at 8233 Leopard St. Both are for new commercial buildings, shells only. Cost for each listed at $194,401.
The third permit issued went to Radiology & Associates for new commercial tenant spaces. The medical company plans to remodel a former bank building at 1812 Alameda at Six Points. Estimated cost is $4.3 million.
