The largest business networking event in South Texas takes place Friday, Nov. 13 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, with Mayor Nelda Martinez as keynote speaker. More than 130 businesses are participating as exhibitors this year, including Wells Fargo, KIII TV, the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Gateway Media, State Farm, Texas State Aquarium, Del Mar College and more.
The South Texas Business Expo involves businesses from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. It brings hundreds of business people together with thousands of potential customers, clients, strategic partners, investors and financial institutions for a day of marketing, networking, relationship building, learning, mentoring and more.
Activities during the day include panel discussions, seminars, mentoring sessions, workshops and other learning opportunities. A networking breakfast, lunch and happy hour followed by the after-party are also included.
Mayor Martinez will address the gathering at 5 p.m. during an after-show networking event. An exclusive address, it is open only to exhibitors and sponsors and promises to cover a wide range of topics important to the South Texas business community.
According to statistics from the South Texas Business Expo, trade shows are the No. 1 business to business marketing spend to support sales, beating out speciality publications, Internet, promotions and public relations respectively. Ninety-one percent of attendees say that trade shows impact their buying decisions, while 81 percent testify that trade shows help attendees become aware of new products and services.
