Southside Business Council meetings have been so popular and informative they are now being called Chamber Business Update meetings. Information will no longer focus solely on the Southside of Corpus Christi. Topics will include regional concerns, beginning with the next meeting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.
Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q will provide the venue, food and drinks for a presentation and discussion of the real estate and construction industries in the Coastal Bend. Guest speakers from the Apartment, Builders and Realtors associations will each give a short presentation, followed by a question and answer session.
“We think it’s a good start to the new program,” said chamber president Foster Edwards. “All three of these organizations have area-wide members. The stats they present will be area wide. It’s part of the shift of making these meetings more community wide rather than focusing on one area of town.”
The goal is to update the community on what’s happening from the perspective of the chamber’s members and the chamber’s contacts, Edwards explained. Meetings will continue to be held on the Southside because, he said, “I think people like that.”
The new Chamber Business Update meeting will not be held in December, but will resume in January under the new name. No topic has been set. For more information, visit the Chamber's website at corpuschristichamber.org.
