Stories of two chambers merging, local phone scams and free rides for holiday revelers grace the front pages of this month’s Corpus Christi Business News, along with the twinkle and glitter of the holidays. The Business News is in the mail with everything you need to know to plan a month of seasonal celebrations..
You’ll also find out about local business leaders, including:
• Christian Care 360, a faith-based health sharing plan for Coastal Bend Christians;
Interstate Batteries, the place that powers your Christmas presents year-round;
Salon Divine, which recently moved to S. Staples St. on the Southside.
Accountant Alvin Reagan and the Corpus Christi Police Department warn of phone scammers who claim they are from the IRS, demanding payment for back taxes right away. Hang up, don’t send money, Reagan and CCPD advise. The IRS does not collect money over the phone. Ever.
Shopping local really does help the economy, according to local Chambers, not a new message, but certainly one that comes backed by the facts. Even shopping in national chains helps the city, says Corpus Christi Chamber president Foster Edwards, because it supports jobs.
In not-so-good news, the city was named the drunkest city in the state recently, but local organizations are working to do something about that. Find out what in this month’s issue.
You can also learn where to donate, register for or pick up Toys for Tots donations, deadlines for the month’s tax forms for small businesses and what that 101 Auto Guide insert that just fell into your hands is all about!
