Corpus Christi will soon be home to another Chicken Express fast-food restaurant.

Chicken Express plans a new location for serving up its famous crunchy fried goodness and sweet tea at 3014 Cimarron in Corpus Christi. The fast-food restaurant applied for a permit from the city to build a 3,376 square-foot building for a total of $675,000. 
Other permit requests filed through Dec. 3 with the city’s development office include new construction for the following businesses: 
• Corpus Christi Pet Memorial Center, 1534 Holly Rd., 2,000 sq. ft., $300,000;
• Advanced Auto Parts, 3780 Leopard St., 9,500 sq. ft., $629,565;
• Manhattan Apartments office, 7001 Lipes, 2,530 sq. ft., $184,032.
Tenant finish out requests to retrofit existing spaces for new businesses include: 
• Chiropractor’s Office, 2306 Airline, no size or valuation given;
• Tiffany Nails, 7114 Saratoga Blvd. Ste 206, 1,228 sq. ft., $3,900;
• Dunbar Armored Car Service, 908 Cantwell Drive, 3,860 sq. ft., $47,000.
Three permits were issued, one to Aveda Institute for tenant finish out at 1110 Ayers St., 9,020 sq. ft., $238,500. The other two were issued to the State Comptroller’s Office to finish out space for new tenants at 500 N. Shoreline Blvd. Both permits are for 3,500 sq. ft. at a value of $72,250 each. All three are for professional offices.
