Expansion plans are already underway for Mike Shaw Buick-GMC, formerly known as Stanley Bryan Buick-GMC. Shaw now has three major dealerships in the Coastal Bend after purchasing the Robstown business.
Located at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 77 and State Hwy 44, the dealership is just across the road from the new Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay, which are expected to open for the 2016 holiday shopping season. Construction on the $85 million shopping complex began in January.
Capital improvements of about $1 million, including newly paved lots for additional inventory, will come in about eight different phases according to a press release.
Most of the current employees will be retained, including Stan Bryan Jr., whose father began the business 38 years ago. Another 30 positions could also be added, including sales, financial advisors and technicians.
Shaw owns Mike Shaw Toyota at 3232 IH-69 Access Rd in the Calallen area and Mike Shaw Kia at 6802 S Padre Island Dr., both in Corpus Christi. The South Texas native also owns dealerships in Colorado Springs and Thornton, Colorado; Slidell, Louisiana; and San Antonio.
