Permits for building apartment complexes were granted and more applied for during the final week of March, according to information released by the  development services offices for the City of Corpus Christi. Also, Outback Steakhouse plans to remodel inside and out in time for barside sports watching in the fall.
Five units and a clubhouse will make up Riverstone Apartments at 3521 Airline Road. Total estimated cost for almost 78,000 square feet, totaled $3.2 million. Buildings will be three stories high with 12 units each. The permits were issued March 31. 
Permits were requested for new construction of five units of apartments at 3401 Holly Road. Total estimated cost totaled $3.7 million for 65,260 square feet. 
Other permits requested include a remodel for Outback Steakhouse at 4221 S. Padre Island Drive. Estimated cost for redoing the 6,840 square foot building is $250,000. Outback plans to redo its bar area while also remodeling the outside. Geared toward sports viewing as football season gets underway in the fall, the new bar will have more and bigger TVs.
Hicks Family Nissan also requested approval of a plumbing plan revision on as an addendum to an existing permit that equals $4 million. The addendum also includes a prefab metal building located at the dealership at 3202 IH 69 North Frontage Road. 
A new Stripes convenience store is planned for 5425 Old Brownsville Road at S. Padre Island Drive. Plans filed ask for permits for $1 million in site work and $1 million in new construction. 
AT&T has asked for permits to remodel nine of its towers, each at a different location:

• 9209 Leopard Street, $15,000
• 7529 Wooldridge, $15,000
• 6601 Everhart Road, $15,000
• 4521 S. Staples, $15,000
• 4305 Callicoat, $15,000
• 425 Lantana, $15,000
• 2370 Pearse, $15,000

Along with the Riverstone Apartments, two permits were issued to CNG Fueling Station at 5352 Ayers Street. No square footage or value was listed. The vacant property is owned by the City of Corpus Christi. 
Another permit was issued to Airgas-Southwest Inc. for new commercial building of 200 square feet, costing $13,866. The address is 4817 Agnes St. and is listed as professional office space.
