Adopt a rubber duck for the South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind's annual Rubber Duck Round-Up. The festivities are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 25 at Col Park in Corpus Christi.
Come early to enjoy a moonwalk, petting zoo, pony rides, games, live music and food. You also want to have plenty of time to adopt your ducks for the race. Adoptive parents receives an adoption certificate and gets to name their ducks. You'll need plenty of time to think up a good one before the race begins.
The race itself takes place at 12:30 p.m. when hundreds of ducks hit the Gulf waters and make a dash for the finish line. Adopt as many ducks as you want for a chance to win a Visa gift card up to $150. All proceeds will benefit the programs and services of South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind.
The South Texas Lighthouse is a not-for-profit organization in Corpus Christi that employs, educates and empowers the blind or visually impaired.
