Along with its new soccer and track stadium, Texas A&M Corpus Christi now boasts a new women's soccer team. The inaugural match held at the Dr. Jack Dugan Family Soccer & Track Stadium in late August was a loss for the team, but a historic moment for the school as player Alyssa Miller (13) made the first Islander score EVER! The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars bested the newly minted Islanders 2-1 in the Aug. 30 scrimmage.

The women's soccer team shares the $9.6 million state-of-the-art facility with the record-setting Islanders track team. The 15,300-square-foot facility includes a soccer field enclosed by an eight-lane track and seating for up to 750 spectators.
