Adopt-a-Beach kicks off the new year on Padre Island with its first clean ups on Feb. 7 and 8. South Padre Island gets ready for spring with a cleanup at Edwin Atwood Park. And in the Coastal Bend, cleanup begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 on five beaches.

Be sure to dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes. Take drinking water, sunscreen, a hat and bug repellant with you.
When you check in, you will receive cleanup data cards, pencils, trash bags and disposable gloves.
The next clean up will be coast-wide on April 26.
