Drunken cows have taken over downtown Corpus Christi! Or at least at 505 S. Water St. in Suite 515 where Drunken Cows Whimsical Fine Art Studio recently hung out its painted shingle. Known for her colorful, movement-filled work of farm animals, children and unusual still lifes, artist Rosilyn “Roz” Young promoted and sold her work mostly online until opening her new studio near the Tango Tea Room.
Her website at drunkencows.com is still a great place to order custom or existing paintings or prints and even merchandise. You can have your own drunken cow (or expressive chicken or other dramatic farm beast!) on a T-shirt, tote bag, coffee mug, apron or phone cover.
Her paintings are accessible to any art lover, with some prices as low as $100. She is a regular at Corpus Christi First ArtWalks, the Country Peddler Show and even a downtown restaurant. You can also find her work on Etsy, an online art and craft site.
Young has been painting professionally for more than 20 years. She moved from a big East Coast city to Texas in the 1990s and fell in love with the people (and livestock) of the Lone Star State.
Check out her work online at drunkencows.com, or better yet, head on down to Water Street where you can see the real thing and talk to the artist!
