Why not work out on the beach? Morning workouts are the best way to boost your metabolism, so why not hit the beach with the sunrise?
Everyone needs to exercise, whether to lose a few pounds or maintain a healthy heart and lifestyle. Studies have proven morning workouts are best, giving you energy throughout the day and providing less of a chance for procrastination. Morning workouts maximize metabolism levels, keeping you fired up physically and mentally throughout the day. Also, you are more likely to be consistent with your exercise routine if you schedule it for the morning.
These three basic tips will help your maintain a consistent exercise routine — and stay healthy and happy!
1. Sleep!
Getting enough sleep is essential to overall good health and maintaining an exercise routine. Your body works far more efficiently throughout the workout and the entire day if you are well-rested. To achieve a good night's sleep, take charge of your sleeping schedule. Establish a sleep rhythm that gets you in and out of bed at basically the same time each day of the week — even weekends! No one schedule fits everyone's needs. The trick is to be consistent. You also might consider studies that show the more sleep hours you get before midnight, the greater quality of sleep you'll get.
2. Prepare for the morning the night before
If you wake up with your workout clothes, shoes and other gear packed or laid out and ready to go, you are more likely to keep your workout commitment. Preparing the night before improves your motivation and gives you extra time for your workout. You won't have to rush or be tempted to cancel your routine because you don't have time to find those misplaced shoes!
3. Drink up! (Water that is)
Dehydration risk is higher in the morning after a full night's sleep, so it's important to drink plenty of water before and during your morning workout. Working out without the proper fluids can lead to muscle cramps and rapid heart rates. You also might experience vertigo or light-headedness. And you'll tire more quickly. You should drink two or more 8-ounce glasses of water when you first get up. Keep a water bottle on hand when working out. And continue to drink after you're done.
