Curt Hills of Oasis Motor Co. made the front cover of the inaugural issue of Corpus Christi Living magazine. The new monthly is mailed to 25,000 homes in the city’s highest income zip codes.

Corpus Christi Living, a new monthly magazine produced by Texas Publishing, hit 25,000 mailboxes in the city in mid-May. Tagged as “Your guide to the good life in the city by the sea,” Corpus Christi Living takes the company’s monthly ad mailer to a new level of reader interest and usability, announced owner Dan Alvey.
“We’ve added high-interest feature stories, including a cover story on a local business leader each month, to create an engaging, user friendly publication,” Alvey said. “Consumers are more likely to pick it up, which benefits the advertisers, which in turn benefits consumers who will find savings, discounts and information about local businesses inside.”
First known as the Corpus Christi Monthly Ad Mailer, Corpus Christi Living also includes the most comprehensive listing of events in the Coastal Bend. Another new feature online, 101corpuschristi.com/events is growing daily to include events from 5K runs to live music to the latest fundraisers and festivals.
“While the print version will keep readers up to date on what’s going on in the Coastal Bend, the online version makes it easy to schedule and plan with your friends,” Alvey said. He explained that online users can click to automatically add an event to their calendars or send the information electronically to friends or family.
“Our online presence continues to grow, offering consumers easy access to Corpus Christi businesses and services,” Alvey said. “Everything we do is based on the founding philosophy of this company, which is dedicated to promoting locally owned and operated businesses.”
Texas Publishing also produces the Corpus Christi Business News, 101 Fun Things to do in Corpus Christi magazine, 101corpuschristi.com, ccbiznews.com and the Corpus Christi Area-Wide Telephone and Internet Directory. Alvey has owned and operated the Corpus Christi-based company for 15 years.
“I’m a local business owner and I support local business owners,” Alvey said. “Locally owned businesses put more of their profits back into the community, which keeps a city economically strong and helps provide opportunity to its citizens. It’s a win-win.”
Corpus Christi Living will highlight the work and dedication behind locally owned and operated business, Alvey added.
“We want to let our readers know who their neighbors are, who they are doing business with and what’s out there that they may not be aware of,” Alvey said. “There’s a lot more to come and it’s all geared to promoting Corpus Christi business owners  — the people who are committed to this community and are working to help it grow and prosper.”
