All you bicycle enthusiasts who can’t wait for the next Conquer the Coast, the 2016 date has been set and you can register NOW to save a few bucks.
The annual fundraiser sets off from Whataburger Field on Sept.17, 2016. With Corpus Christi Bay in the background, the route winds through the heart of Corpus Christi past its major landmarks: Harbor Bridge; Watergarden Park; the USS Lexington; the Texas State Aquarium and, yes, the beach!
Registration opens Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. This year’s ride sold out, so for those who really want to ride, now is the time to sign up.
Use the promo code RIDEWITHME to take advantage of early discounts:
• 65-mile, $40
• 25-mile, $30
• 10-mile, $10
Promotion prices are good through Dec. 24.
The 65-mile ride is a challenge even for seasoned riders. Participants will ride along the seashore and complete a loop around the entirety of Corpus Christi Bay, from Port Aransas to Mustang Island to Padre Island.
The 25-mile ride, perfect for intermediate cyclists, follows the entire length of Ocean Drive.
The 10-mile ride is for casual riders. It is a leisurely ride down a section of Ocean Drive, and is a good fit for less experienced riders and families.
Conquer the Coast benefits the Corpus Christi Chamber Foundation, which funds local programs such as Leadership Corpus Christi, CC under 40, Bikes for Kids, and the Texas A&M University-CC Islander Athletic Fund.
