Corpus Christi has a new chief of police, a new chamber of commerce and can now prepare for a new bridge. New street lights on Leopard St. and a new metal detector in city hall are being installed to make Corpus Christi residents safer, while a computerized van roams the streets recording every bump and pothole to prepare for roadway upgrades.
That’s just part of the news found in the latest issue of Corpus Christi Business News, now heading to 10,000 businesses in the city, with another 2,000 set out in racks. The 2-year-old publication is free of charge and full of economic news of interest.
Local businesses featured include:
Julian’s Auto and Mobile Mechanic, a repair shop that will come to you;
1st Choice Limousines, a first-class (and safe) way to ring in the New Year or travel to and from any celebration;
Hernandez and Company CPA, a family legacy that knows how to “count” on each other.
The publication highlights some of the bigger events scheduled in January — just a hint of what can be found on 101corpuschristi.com/EVENTS, the most comprehensive calendar in the Coastal Bend. Also interactive, the calendar allows users to send emails to family and friends, save events to a personal list and add them directly to digital calendars with a touch of the finger or click of a mouse.
In Legal News, attorney Andrew Greenwell explains the EPA’s possible lawsuit against the city.
In other news, find out which 14 city parks are now for sale and what local naturalist recently received a national honor. Also, the latest sale tax figures are presented in an easy-to-understand chart, along with tax filing deadlines for January.
