Grub Burger Bar is coming to Corpus Christi, one of three planned for Texas in 2016. The College Station-based chain follows a national trend of restaurants known for using fresh ingredients and putting as much emphasis on vibe as they do menu.
To be located at 4902 S. Staples, the Corpus Christi Grub Burger permit request lists project valuation at $650,000 for a 4,888-square-foot space. Construction should begin in April, according to Bill Daniel, vice president construction and development for Grub Bruger Bar. The first burgers should be served up to Corpus Christi customers sometime in the late summer, he said.
According to the chain’s website, Grub Burger Bar is all about “great food, great drinks and great hospitality.” Buns are baked from scratch daily, all sauces and dressings are homemade and each location buys locally when possible.
The upscale, "better-burger" concept began at a single restaurant in College Station in 2012. Second and third locations followed in Houston and Dallas respectively. The chain now has restaurants in Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvannia, Deleware and Florida.
Menus include pepperoni pizza burgers, doughnut-garnished milk shakes, salads and more. Waffle-cut sweet potato fries come sprinkled with rosemary dust. The extensive burger menu includes “burgers that don’t moo,” with choices of pork, chicken, turkey, salmon and chickpea.
Applications for employment can be made online at grubburgerbar.com.
