The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay are under construction and should be ready for this year's Christmas shoppers — if they wait until November 3 to begin the gift gathering. The first three stores announcing inclusion in the mall are Express, Guess Factory Store and Sketchers.
Rather than a food court, phase one of the two-phase construction plan will include a food truck pavilion. Food trucks wanting to be part of the development can apply sometime this summer. A more traditional food court may be part of phase 2, said a spokesman for the project’s lead developers, Carduner Commercial.
About 70 tenants total are expected to be part of the phase 1 opening, but which stores are still to be determined.
The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay are being built at the intersection of I-69 and Highway 44, adjacent to the Richard Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, about 20 minutes from downtown Corpus Christi. A website promises further announcements and offers eager shoppers a chance to join a mailing list for the latest news.
