he March issue of Corpus Christi Living magazine. The monthly publication has proven successful at growing advertisers’ businesses. Just ask them!
The sales team at Oasis Motor Co. wants to know exactly when Corpus Christi Living is going to be in area mailboxes. That’s because they get a huge boost in customer traffic and want to be sure they are fully staffed and prepared.
Other businesses that swear by the locally-owned and -operated magazine include Sandi’s Red Hot and Blue Diner and Postal Annex.
“My business has doubled since I have started advertising with Corpus Christi Living,” diner owner Sandi Clark told Corpus Christi Business News. Sandi’s is located at 704 Ayers St. and has become a popular stop for seekers of all-day breakfasts, breads baked daily, fresh ingredients and home cooking.
“Advertising in Corpus Christi Living has really helped me grow my business,” said Gayle Thomas, owner of Postal Annex at 6537 S. Staples St. Now in its third year, Postal Annex packages, ships and mails. The mail hub also sells stamps and mailing supplies and offers a full line of gifts. Advertising was essential to helping establish her presence in the Southside, Thomas said.
The March issue of Corpus Christi Living is tucked into this issue of Corpus Christi Business News.
“Corpus Christi Living promotes local businesses,” said Texas Publishing owner Dan Alvey. “It also gives advertisers — the owners of those businesses — a prime tool for getting their information into the hands of the city’s highest-income consumers.”
Texas Publishing Co. produces the magazine as well as Corpus Christi Business News, 101 Fun Things to do in Corpus Christi, the Corpus Christi Area-Wide Internet and Telephone Directory, 101corpuschristi.com, ccbiznews.com and a variety of special interest guides.
Corpus Christi Living magazine is mailed free each month to 25,000 of the highest-income ZIP codes. A different list is used every other month, so advertisers in two consecutive issues will reach 50,000 unique households with yearly incomes over $50,000.
“We encourage advertising for at least four consecutive months, but buying over a longer period of time works best,” sales manager Bob Hotchkin said. “When people see repetition, it helps influence their buying.”
Hotchkin told about a consumer who thought the mailing indicia on the back cover of the mailer was the address for the back page advertiser. He came into the magazine office looking for new windows and shutters. He was pointed in the right direction and ended up being a high-end customer that more than paid for the ad.
“It works because it gets into people’s hands,” Hotchkin said. “It creates interest in the products. When someone sees that ad, they think, ‘Hey, I need new windows.’ And they call for a quote.”
Corpus Christi Living magazine is a retail-to-consumer publication, while Corpus Christi Business News is business-to-business. Which is why this month’s issue of the Business News includes a copy of Corpus Christi Living.
“We want our customers to know we have the most complete set of advertising tools in town to help them grow their business,” Hotchkin said. “Texas Publishing is a full-service marketing company. You won’t find a better investment for your advertising dollars.”
Curt Hill, owner of Oasis Motor Company at 3440 South Padre Island Drive testifies to the fact that advertising in Corpus Christi Living works for him.
“It’s a great marketing tool and well worth the investment,” Hill said. “We have advertised in the magazine for close to a year now and have been very happy with the results.”
