A new farmers market is coming to Corpus Christi! Pick up fresh produce, try out a new food truck, view local art, stretch out in a power yoga class and maybe even adopt a puppy (or a bunny!).
The Padre Island Farmers Market, which sold its first eggs and honey March 31, is a family friendly community event. The farmers market will take place every other Thursday at 15030 Fortuna Bay Drive from 4 to 8 p.m.
You can catch the Padre Island Farmers Market on April 14 and 28 as well as May 12 and 26. The organizers are starting slow. As the market grows, it will surely become a weekly event.
The new market kicked off with its inaugural event recently with 12 food vendors and three food trucks. Shoppers also found art vendors, demonstrations by BontaniCo on plants and hydroponics, animal adoptions, kid friendly activities and a donation-based yoga class.
The goods are seasonal, of course, but this spring you can expect fresh greens like kale, leeks and lettuce; barnyard eggs; homegrown tomatoes and peppers; hand-canned pickles, jams, jellies and salsas; and so much more.
