Three building permits totaling $7.5 million in new construction and tenant finish out work were issued by the city’s development office in mid April.
The smallest of the three went to American Integrated Solutions, which is remodeling 3,039 square feet of space at 1214 Rickey Drive for $42,139.
Wingate by Wyndham plans the biggest project, building a 55,903 square foot building at 7150 South Padre Island Drive. Total cost is estimated at $4.3 million. The location is on the North side of SPID, at Rodd Field Road.
The International hotel chain formerly known as Wingate Inn, Wingate by Wyndham caters to the business crowd, offering free hot breakfast, high-speed internet access, work-out facilities and upscale bedding. Parent company Wyndham Worldwide is headquartered in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. The Wyndam hotel groups claims on its website to be “the world’s largest hotel company.”
Lithe Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Corpus Christi will soon be getting a new showroom, at its 4313 S. Staples Street location. The 16,407 square foot facility is estimated to cost around $3.1 million.
Eight new permit requests were filed the same week, three for new construction, three for remodeling and two tenant finish outs, totaling $1.2 million.

• Canopy – Segunda Iglesia Bautista (Over H Ramp), 5405 Carrol Lane, 625 square feet, $7,000, new construction;
• Verizon Tower-1521 Staples (K:), 1521 South Staples, 409 square feet, $6,500.
