Élan Corpus Christi Assisted Living plans to build a $9.8 million facility at 5441 Lipes Blvd. The company is a southwest real estate developer partnered with Life Care Services, a national leader in senior lifestyle products and services. Founded in 1971, LCS manages more than 100 senior living communities nationwide with more than 30,000 residents. The Corpus Christi facility will have 99 units and include an entire wing to provide services for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. 
Élan filed for a permit with the city of Corpus Christi’s development office for a 88,720-square-foot building. Other permit requests included: 
• AutoMotion car dealership, 6405 South Padre Island Drive, $145,593, new construction; 
• Carroll High School laundry room renovation, 5301 Weber Road, $60,000, new construction;
• Moody High School laundry room renovation, 1818 Trojan Drive, $15,000, remodel:
• Miller High School laundry room renovation, 1 Battlin Buc Blvd., $2,500, remodel:
• King High School laundry room renovation, 5225 Golihar, $15,500, remodel:
• Mike Shaw Toyota addition, 3232 IH 69, $450,000;
• Medical office building, 1534 South Staples, $751,140, new construction; 
• Two permits for Beachside Townhomes, 14802 Robla Drive, $366,701 each, new construction;
• Two permits for Leopard Business Park, 8233 Leopard Street #7, $158,000 each, tenant finish out;
• Eight permits for Corpus Christi Housing Authority, 2320 Buford, $160,634 each, remodels;
• City of Corpus Christi signs and operations shop, 5352 Ayers, Building 21, $2.2 million, new construction. 
Permits were issued for the following: 
• Seven for Glenoak Apartments, 711 Glenoak Drive, $5.5 million total, new commercial building;
• Glenoak Apartment clubhouse, 711 Glenoak Drive, $431,375, new commercial building;
• Plains Bank temporary building, 5921 Saratoga Blvd., $407,420, new commercial building; 
• Flour Bluff Independent School District natatorium, 2702 Waldron Road, $10.6 million, new commercial building; 
• Woodbend clubhouse, 2001 Woodbend Drive, $16 million, new commercial building.
