As of Sept. 27, you no longer have to go to the grocery store. H-E-B and Shipt, an app-based grocery delivery service, have partnered to provide at-home shopping in Corpus Christi. The two companies are offering $25 in free groceries to anyone signing up before Sept. 27.
H-E-B and Shipt began offering the service across Texas earlier this year. Shipt delivers in 30 cities across the country and has offices in Birmingham, Alabama, and San Francisco.
“The relationship between Shipt and H-E-B is generating great outcomes across our Texas footprint,” said Rob Hall, group vice president-GM Gulf Coast Region of H-E-B. “We have seen H-E-B customers across the state enjoy the convenience of grocery delivery, and we are ready to bring Shipt to Corpus Christi so we can continue to simplify our customers’ lives.”
To use the service, all you have to do is download the Shipt app and let your fingers do the shopping. The app includes a full selection of groceries that you can customize with preferences. A reliable shopper goes to the stores and handpicks the items. You groceries are delivered the same day. You can choose to get them within the hour.
Shipt is working to build a network of 100 shoppers in Corpus Christi to shop and deliver orders to Shipt members. To apply to be a Shipt Shopper, visit shipt.com and click on “Be a Shopper.”
Membership costs $99 a year or $14.99 a month for free delivery for orders over $35, even during peak times. No surge pricing, promises the company.
Shipt will deliver groceries from Corpus Christi H-E-B stores to Port Aransas, Taft, Odem and Mustang Island. For a detailed map of the coverage area, visit Shipt.com/CorpusChristi.
