
Hand in Hand is a live simulcast on Sept. 12 to benefit Hurricane Harvey relief, featuring the nations most high profile celebrities.
For all those who love to visit the Coastal Bend and want to help, tune into the Hand in Hand Harvey Relief Telethon. The live simulcast begins at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday, Sept. 12 on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CMT.
Headlined by Beyonce, Barbra Streisand and Oprah Winfrey, the Hand in Hand telethon features an impressive list of high profile celebrities. A-listers such as George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Dennis Quaid, Reese Witherspoon and more will participate.
The telecast airs from the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles, Times Square in New York City and at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.
The one-hour event for Hurricane Harvey victims will benefit organizations such as United Way of Greater Houston, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Feeding Texas and the Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief.

Art Center of Corpus Christi Emergency Sale
Through the months of September and October, all art sold in the Meadows and Kucera galleries at the Art Center of Corpus Christi will directly benefit Coastal Bend artists who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

“This Close to Greatness” book signing
Local author Andy Purvis hosts a book signing of his new book, “This Close to Greatness,” at Barnes & Noble Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1-3 p.m.
The book contains hundreds of full-color photographs, giving a personal look into expanse of Purvis’ 35 years covering sports. All book royalties from the day will be donated to Coastal Bend Hurricane Harvey relief funds.

CC Songwriters Hurricane Benefit
Visit the Executive Surf Club on Sunday, Sept. 10 for a benefit hosted by CC Songwriters, featuring performances by talented local musicians. Donations (cash and goods) will be taken at the door.
All proceeds will benefit the Rockport Center for the Arts. All goods will be donated to the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

Mercy Chefs: Cook for a Cause
If you enjoy cooking and would like to volunteer, join Mercy Chefs’ volunteer team. The organization has already served more than 100,000 meals to victims and first responders of Hurricane Harvey.

Rock for Relief: Texas Coast Benefit Festival
Join the House of Rock’s benefit from Sept. 8-9. Over 25 local bands will perform at the two-day festival. The music starts Friday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
To attend, bring a suggested donation of $10 or canned goods. All proceeds from the event will help the Food Bank of Corpus Christi.

Rock & Ride Motorcycle Run and Music Festival
Ride for relief with the annual Rock and Ride Motorcycle Run and Music Festival thrown by Classic Rock 104.5 and Edwards Law Firm. In its eighth year, the festival will benefit Coastal Bend Hurricane Relief efforts.
Register to ride at Brewster Street Ice House or Corpus Christi Harley Davidson. The ride begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Corpus Christi Harley Davidson.
No bike, no problem: the festival begins at Water’s Edge Park after the ride from noon to 10 p.m. and will feature live music, local food trucks, vendors and bike demonstrations. For more information, visit classicrock1045.com/rock-ride.

Warrior Support Center Donation Drive
Donate children’s items such as coloring books and crayons, backpacks, diapers, baby wipes, hygiene produce, small blankets and new clothing.
The donation drive runs 1-6 p.m. daily through Sunday, Sept. 10 at Warrior Support Center. All items will be delivered to local FEMA and Red Cross locations.
