Summer hours are extended and new shows are available at the Texas State Aquarium this summer. Through Labor Day weekend, the aquarium will open at 10 AM and close at 6 PM seven days a week. One of several new features includes a 4D film.
“We have more programming during the summer,” said aquarium President and CEO Tom Schmid. “We’ve got some additional bird and marine mammal shows, and, of course, the splash park is up and running all summer long.”
New in 4D is “Smallfoot 4D Experience,” playing daily at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4:30 PM.
“Smallfoot 4D” turns the yeti myth upside down when a young big foot named Migo finds a human — something he did not believe existed. His quest is to convince his community that the legend of Smallfoot is actually true.
Also playing in the 4D theater is “Planet Earth: Ice Worlds 4D Experience” with showtimes at 11 AM, noon, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM. The film explores the mysterious frozen worlds of Antartica and the Arctic.
