Make a splash this Christmas at the Texas State Aquarium, where fish, fowl, and fur know how to celebrate the holidays above and below sea level. Here’s what’s going on at one of the nation’s top-ranked aquariums this holiday season.

Santa takes the plunge every holiday season to feed the fish in full Santa uniform and diving gear. It’s easy to sidle up to Caribbean Sea tank in Caribbean Journey to get a Scuba Santa selfie for your social media pages and maybe even next year’s Christmas cards! Staff members are on hand to help take photos with your camera as well.

The classic stop-motion animation in 4D delivers a visually brilliant experience of a long-time favorite. Yes, it’s the original 1964 version featuring narration by Burl Ives, now in 4D.

The aquarium will be closed on Thursday, November 28, for Thanksgiving but reopens with new holiday hours, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, November 29. The aquarium will be closed Monday-Thursday, December 2-5 for renovations.

Although closed Christmas Day, visitors can take selfies with Scuba Santa on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The aquarium will also be open from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, and Wednesday, January 1.
