The Mayor’s Fourth of July Big Bang Celebration and Fireworks Show has been postponed.
The Mayor’s Fourth of July Big Bang Celebration and Fireworks Show has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also not happening are the Food Truck Festival, which was scheduled for earlier in the day July 4 at The Water's Edge Park, and an Independence Day Patriotic Ceremony that morning honoring those who served and sacrificed their lives for their country, which was to be hosted by the mayor's Committee on Veteran Affairs.
The fireworks show postponement was announced on the event's Facebook page June 25 with a message from Mayor Joe McComb.
"In order to protect our friends and neighbors, we need to postpone the fireworks," the mayor said.
He added that the city is looking at alternative dates to hold the fireworks show.
One event still happening, but with different hours, is the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History celebration:

With the city's fireworks show postponed, the museum is holding Red White & Blue Bash festivities during regular hours. Features live music, concessions, science shows, crafts for kids, and balloon animals. Captain America will stop by for a meet-and-greet. Patrons will receive a $4 discount off general admission.
