Free, outdoor ArtWalk returns to downtown Corpus Christi in block party format
ArtWalk in downtown Corpus Christi is now a block party. Over the past year, ArtWalk has undergone several transitions, from in person in downtown parks to a virtual event and, most recently, to block parties. ArtWalks are held the first Friday of the month, year-round.
"We are excited for ArtWalk to undergo this much-needed transition in efforts to bring the vibrant, lively downtown atmosphere back after a long year," said Alyssa Barrera Mason, executive director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District. “This is the beginning of more creative programming during ArtWalk, and we hope it brings life back to our thriving artistic community."
ArtWalk Block Parties will highlight 20 local vendors, including artists, artisans, and designers. The event also will feature programming at some of downtown's most loved businesses, shops, and restaurants, including the House of Rock, BUS, Executive Surf Club, and Rockits.
The Art Museum of South Texas, affiliated with Texas A&M University, offers First Friday $1 admission on the first Friday of the month.
ArtWalk Block Parties are 5:30-9 p.m. the first Friday of every month across downtown Corpus Christi with street closures on Lomax Street and People's Street.
Sponsored by H-E-B, you will find live music interspersed with local craft and art vendors and no entry fee. Art galleries are open late and feature new works and permanent exhibits.
