Because of a major cold snap that is expected to continue through the weekend, the Corpus Christi ArtWalk has gone hybrid for this First Friday of the month on Feb. 4. Restaurants, breweries, and a museum will be open and offer cozy and warm places to hunker down, but all art vendor sales will be online.
The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District will be posting the participating downtown vendors on its Facebook page and Instagram account
Downtown restaurants, including Nueces Brewing Company, the House of Rock, and the South Texas Museum of Art, will host indoor participation, where you can dine, drink, and shop on your smartphone or tablet.
The hybrid model of ArtWalk came about after the arrival of the pandemic almost two years ago. People still wanted to be able to view the art and shop vendors, so the DMD created a virtual event.
In August of 2021, ArtWalk returned to its free, in-person block party with artists, artisans, and designers at booths, food and drink vendors, and live music.
The Art Museum of South Texas, affiliated with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, charges only $1 admission on the first Friday of the month.
Tune in to the DMD Facebook page or Instagram account tonight for delightful pursuit of art.
Future ArtWalk Block Parties will be held on the first Friday of every month throughout Downtown Corpus Christi with street closures on Lomax Street and People's Street from 5:30-9 p.m.
