With new social distancing protocols in place, the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi is back in action with a lineup of great entertainment for November, all scheduled for the Wintergarden Park outdoor venue.
Paramount’s Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the green space between Selena Auditorium and the Art Museum of South Texas. Billed as “The Music of Pink Floyd as you’ve never seen it before,” the multimedia laser and light show features the original master recordings of the legendary Pink Floyd.
Featuring the iconic “Dark Side of the Moon,” the first half of the show is viewed through 3D glasses. For “The Wall” in the second half of the show, switch out the 3D for prism glasses and prepare to be wowed.
A long-running show, the 2020 version promises new features.
Tickets are sold in pods, or groups of six. Each concert has 250 pods, defined spaces of 7 feet by 7 feet, available. You don’t have to have six people, but you will have the whole space. No other patrons will be allowed in your designated area. All pods are 6 feet apart. For tickets, visit the American Bank Center website.
Switch the channel to country for Tracy Byrd the next night at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Also a pod concert set in Watergarden Park, tickets are sold in groups of six.
A multi-platinum recording artist, Byrd is known for hits such as “Lifestyles of the Not So Rich and Famous,” “Don’t Take Her, She’s All I’ve Got,” and “The Keeper of the Stars,” which won Song of the Year at the 1995 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Live comedy rounds out the month with Felipe Esparza delivering his standup genius at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
Esparza won “Last Comic Standing" and now has a comedy special on Netflix, “They’re Not Gonna Laugh at You.” He has recurring roles on “The Eric Andre Show” and “Superstore” on NBC and “World’s Dumbest” and “Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at the El Rey” on TruTV. He also hosts weekly podcast “What’s Up Fool?” on the All Things Comedy Network.
