The shopping center that once housed a Kmart in Portland is undergoing a restoration with two new prominent tenants already lined up now that the old building has come down.
Developer McLeod Sears announced that Chick-fil-A and AutoZone will take two of the four free-standing pads available at the site, while another 25,200 feet of shopping space will be under construction soon and looking for tenants.
Chick-fil-A is expected to begin construction any day now on one of the pad sites at 1400 Wildcat Drive, while AutoZone will take another of the four pads.
Construction of the new Chick-fil-A is expected to begin soon. AutoZone plans for construction to start later in the year. The restaurant will be about 5,170 square feet and have two drive-through lanes.
Developer Michael McLeod-Cobb said the company plans to bring in retail and restaurants found in larger cities.
