Dig your toes into the sand this fall for Beachtoberfest, an all-new, six-week celebration hosted by the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center. The fun began Sept. 20, but don’t worry, you haven’t missed it! The events continue through Oct. 28.
Here’s the lineup for October:
WEDNESDAY-SATURDAY, OCT. 3-6
Texas Super Chef Throwdown Series
Texas Chefs compete in the World Food Championships — America’s “Most Watched Food Sport Event” — over three nights at nine different restaurants. The grand tasting happens on night four: Oct. 6. Port Aransas serves as the Texas State Qualifier for the World Chef Challenge in November in Orange Beach, Alabama, where 40 chefs from around the world will compete.
FRIDAY-SUNDAY, OCT. 12-14
Parrot Heads: Wings Over Port Aransas
Party at the end of the island where the Port Aransas Parrot Heads are throwing their annual Wings Over Port A celebration. Includes live music, food, drinks, and dancing.
SATURDAY, OCT. 13
Port A Art Walk
Local artists display their works at the 12th annual Port Aransas Art Walk. Galleries, studios, and design shops across the island open their doors to showcase their art and host meet-and-greets with the creators.
MONDAY, OCT. 15
34th annual Songwriters Showcase
Local musicians perform original tunes at the historic Tarpon Inn for the 34th annual Songwriters Showcase. Entry is $5 with proceeds benefiting the Port Aransas Art Center.
SATURDAY, OCT. 20
Old Town Fest
Celebrate the rich history, heritage, and culture of Mustang Island by touring the “8 Wonders of Port Aransas,” including the Jetties, the Lighthouse, and the Chapel in the Dunes. Old Town Fest offers music, food, beverages, and a parade.

Have you ever seen a dog hang 10? See friendly competitions at the Old Town Fest Surf Classic “Expression Session” with categories for adults, kids, and even canines.

THURSDAY-SUNDAY, OCT. 25-28
Harvest Moon Regatta
Sail away with the largest point-to-point sailing regatta in U.S. coastal waters. About 200 boats start in Galveston and traverse 150 nautical miles, ending in Port Aransas.
SATURDAY, OCT. 27

Lace up your running shoes and don your favorite Halloween costume for Port A’s inaugural 5K Pumpkin Hustle. Medals awarded for best costumes.
