The South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind is throwing a special Easter egg hunt this year. Called the Beeping Eggstravaganza for the Blind, the hunt is for children who are blind or visually impaired. It takes place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Whataburger Field, 734 E. Port Ave.
On March 24, 200 large, brightly colored Easter eggs will be scattered around Whataburger Field. What makes this event special is that the Easter eggs beep! Participants can hunt for eggs using their sense of hearing rather than sight.
The event will have other family-friendly activities as well: a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, moonwalks, arts and crafts and more.
All proceeds from Beeping Eggstravaganza go straight back to the event, ensuring that the STLB is able to provide the experience again at no cost to participants.
The STLB made this event possible by teaming up with the Corpus Christi Police Department Bomb Squad and the Health and Human Services Blind Children’s Program.
