A brand new Whataburger is cooking up custom-made burgers at 7702 South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi. The company recently hosted an evening of games and giveaways, including a “Whataburger for a Year” drawing, to celebrate.
Whataguy, Whataburger’s mascot, and Rusty, the Corpus Christi Hooks mascot, joined team members from the Corpus Christi Ice Rays and hundreds of Whataburger fans to cheer on the new restaurant. To add to the fun, the Texas A&M Islanders cheer team performed and “creature features” from the Texas State Aquarium made an appearance.
“Thanks to all our loyal hometown customers, we are proud to be able to continue to serve even more customers and make new friends in the Corpus Christi community,” said Whataburger Director of Operations Esmer Cavazos.
Family-owned Whataburger has 23 locations in Corpus Christi alone, with more than 760 restaurants in 10 states. Now headquartered in San Antonio, Whataburger founder Harmon Dobson sold his first burgers at a roadside stand in Corpus Christi in 1950.
Open 24-hours, Whataburger serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and anytime meals at its convenient drive-thru window.
