Smoothies, fruit cups, sandwiches soon for sale at old Visitors Center site
A new business is moving into the Bayfront Park kiosk that was once home to the Corpus Christi Visitors Information Center. Vacant since 2018, the asymmetrical building on the seawall next door to the American Bank Center soon will be home to Mangonadas by MLB, which is owned by Yvonne Ibarra.
A new lease for the building was approved by the Corpus Christi City Council at its regular meeting Tuesday, May 18.
Mangonadas, which sells fruit cups, smoothies, paninis, salads, and more, has been operating out of a food truck since 2016.
“The kiosk on Shoreline … will provide a food and refreshment option to tourists and locals visiting Bay Fountain Park and the surrounding area,” reads part of a parks department presentation to City Council regarding the lease.
The business is expected to open in the space by July 1, 2021.
