Small-business owners are invited to celebrate Small Business Development Center Day at Del Mar College from 8-9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21. The SBDC at Del Mar is one of 1,000 across the country that will hold network opportunities in their communities to commemorate their impact on the success of the nation’s entrepreneurs. The program is part of America’s SBDC Network, the Small Business Administration’s largest partnership program.
Del Mar’s event will be held at the Center for Economic Development at 3209 S. Staples St. in Corpus Christi. A light breakfast and coffee will be available. Space is limited, so attendees are asked to RSVP by noon March 20 at seminarscc.com.
“We’d love for our local small-business owners to take an hour out of their day to network and celebrate their hard work and success in the Coastal Bend,” said Ann Fierova, Del Mar College SBDC director.
SBDC Day is designed to help share small business success stories and the impact of the program nationwide. Business development centers provide resources needed to help build and grow small businesses in their communities. In 2016, centers across the nation collectively provided 1.24 million hours of advising to 188,602 businesses, creating 96,095 jobs and generating $6.4 billion in sales growth, $5.16 billion in capital investments and 17,174 new businesses.
