The year 2020 will end in Corpus Christi with a burst of bright lights and fireworks choreographed to music for the Mayor’s Big Bang New Year’s Eve Fireworks display. Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, the Harbor Bridge lights and the Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks will light up the night in downtown Corpus Christi. Fireworks will be launched off a barge positioned north of Peoples Street T-Head on Corpus Christi Bay.
The show is estimated to run 18-20 minutes and will be choreographed to music broadcast from local radio stations 92.7 FM, 95.5 FM, and 1440 AM. Those who prefer to participate virtually can view the show on Facebook.
For the health and safety of the public, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear face coverings. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no RTA Park and Ride will be offered at this time.
The Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks usually happen on the Fourth of July but were canceled this year because of the pandemic.
