After nearly two years of virtual cases, Corpus Christi Municipal Court has begun in-person hearings and bench trials (trial by judge) in the courtroom located at 120 N. Chaparral St. Jury trials will be conducted at the American Bank Center from Dec. 13-17.
On Monday, Dec. 13, the court also will begin in-person, high-volume pre-trials, show-cause, and bond dockets. Arrest warrants will be issued for those who fail to appear. An arrest warrant roundup will be held in February 2022. Beginning in January 2022, in-person jury trials will be held on a regular basis.
“For January 2022, the only date scheduled for jury trials right now at the American Bank Center will be January 10-14,” said Chelsea Torres, public information officer at the city of Corpus Christi. “We are still working on the dates.”
Previously, only payments and customer service were available at the courts. In October 2021, jury trials were resumed at the American Bank Center.
Participants are encouraged to practice COVID-19 safety protocols, including social distancing and the use of a face coverings. Hand sanitizer and gloves will provided upon request.
