Presentation and survey can be found online

The city of Corpus Christi is asking for input on its Uptown Corridors Revitalization. Items for recommendations include street and sidewalk amenities, design improvements, branding, and economic development programming. To register an idea, go to the Corpus Christi website
The focus of the project is Staples Street from Six Points to Interstate 37 and Leopard Street from Upper Broadway to the Crosstown Expressway (Texas 286).
“Your input will help develop a strategy for revitalization that will guide future public and private investments and lay the foundation for a strong local economy along these two key commercial corridors,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo.
The city has compiled a 30-minute video presentation in English and Spanish, which details initial proposals.
Input so far includes a strong desire to make the area more walkable with more parking and increased potential for local business growth and attractions. Others have suggested funding for street festivals. Residents want to promote the importance of community and view the area’s history as a potential strength. Concerns expressed regard homelessness and crime in the area.
All suggestions are intended to drive forward more opportunities in the Uptown Corridor of Corpus Christi. For more information, view the video and take the survey.
Residents, business owners, and other community stakeholders are invited to participate. The bilingual online survey is available through Feb. 20.
